August 27th marks the end of the public commenting period on the proposed permanent cannabis regulations for the state of California. On August 29th, we bring together regulators and operators to break bread and discuss the regulations and how they will affect the various license holders across the cannabis ecosystem – nurseries and cultivators, manufacturers and brands, distributors, testing labs, and retailers.
Operators across the various license types will talk about their reaction to the draft permanent regulations, what concerned them, upset them, made them hopeful. What did they comment on during the 45 day public commenting period in an effort to affect policy? What were the concerns of their peers?
Now that we’ve reached the “hands up, utensils down” point (Top Chef reference), how does each operator think regulations will ultimately play out? Will their suggestions make it into the final regulations? If so, what does the future look like? If not, what does that future look like?
