Kevin Jodrey from Wonderland Nursery predicts a lack of strain diversity for consumers in the short (and possibly long) term in the California cannabis market. Tens of thousands of craft cannabis cultivators contributed genetic diversity to the market over the past 20 years.
As we approach 2018, many of them will not enter the regulated market, either shutting down or staying in the black market. Licensed operators in a regulated market, with strict track and trace protocols, will be fewer, as will the strains farmers cultivate and that are shared up and down the supply chain, ending at the retail point of sale.

Bad news if you rely on or appreciate strains outside the Top 40.
