Protecting the Integrity of Medical in an Adult Use Market

California is going through a major transition right now in its cannabis policy and regulations. Everything seems to be up in the air, yet none of us quite know how it will all land. With a thriving 21 year medical marijuana market, what are the things going forward that we need to be looking at to protect our patients? How can we maintain the integrity of what is actual “medicine” while everyone is forging ahead into a full blown adult use market.

In short, will patients have access to safe medicine at fair prices in the future.

Join us on September 11th for a discussion at The Abbey in West Hollywood, from 6:30 – 9pm.

Discussion leaders include:

  • Dr. Jeff Chen, Director of the UCLA Cannabinoid Affinity Group (CAG), which brings together a group of multidisciplinary UCLA basic, translational, and clinical investigators to map out research into how cannabis and cannabinoids affect the human body and interact with the human endocannabinoid system
  • Michael Backes, author of Cannabis Pharmacy: The Practical Guide to Medical Marijuana, and co-founder of Cornerstone Research Collective, the first evidence-based medical cannabis collective in California. Michael was an editor for the book Cannabis Evolution and Ethnobotany by Robert Connell Clarke and Mark Merlin.
  • Rob Rosenheck, the founder of Lord Jones and President of The Hollywood Hills Wellness Association (HHWA) which provides safe, legal access to cannabis to the Hollywood community. Members of HHWA include Academy Award winning actors, Grammy Award winning recording artists, professional athletes and others seeking alternative treatments for ailments ranging from chronic illness to non-opioid pain management.
